Gordon Gibb

Gordon Gibb graduated from the Mackintosh School of Architecture, his thesis design being published in the AJ.  Formed shortly thereafter, his practice has undertaken healthcare, sports-related, commercial and expert witness commissions.  A former RIAS Council member, he has stage experience, including training under Jacques Lecoq of the International Theatre School, holds a Master of Laws degree from the University of Strathclyde and since 2000 has contributed to the Architect’s Legal Handbook.  In 2004 he was appointed Director of Professional Studies at the Mackintosh, developing studio-based practice teaching, including “Interact”, where architecture, surveying and engineering students deliver joint presentations, and “The Contract Game” project-running simulation.  He sits on the APEAS Examination Committee and is an RIBA Professional Examiner.  In 2005 he gained two Scottish Design Awards for the “India of Inchinnan” restoration and developed the Professional Studies course at the University of Strathclyde, now also teaching at University of Strathclyde Law School.  In 2008 he was elected vice-chair of APSAA and contributed to the ARB/RIBA Part 3 Criteria Working Group.  In 2009 he gained Membership of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
