Become an ARB Board Member

Our Board is responsible for maintaining and promoting the public’s trust and confidence in the integrity of both ARB and of the architects’ profession.  Currently the Board is made up of fifteen members, seven architects elected by their peers and eight lay members of the public appointed by the Privy Council, with the Chair elected by the Board from amongst its membership.

From 2019, our Board will be made up of eleven members, all appointed by the Privy Council:

  • One independent, non-executive Chair
  • Ten non-executive Board members

Terms of office will be up to four years with a commencement date of 7 January 2019. Existing Board members seeking appointment can see out the remainder of their term.

To view information on the work of ARB, visit the ‘About Us‘ section of our website which contains information such as our current Business Plan, Purpose & Objectives and information on our current Board and Committee members.

You can also view agendas and papers from previous Board meetings which will provide an overview on the types of matters considered by ARB’s current Board members.

If you are interested in finding out more about any of the above positions, we are running information evenings at our offices in Weymouth Street on Wednesday 26 and Thursday 27 September 2018, from 5.30pm until 7.00pm.  If you are interested in attending one of these events, please email Emma Matthews at arbboardappointments@arb.org.uk.
