These statistics are intended to give insight into UK and EEA demographics for the Architects Register, to help provide context for the other information in our Brexit web pages.
As of 17 January 2019, there were:
40,512 architects on the Architects Register
8,326 of which were EEA national registrants (excluding UK)
7,126 of these 8,326 had UK addresses
For comparison, on 3 January 2017 there were 6,023 EEA nationals with UK addresses on the Register.
While it has been accurately reported that the number of EEA qualified applicants seeking to join the Register has decreased since the referendum in June 2016, the number of EEA nationals actually on the Register still continues to grow. The numbers registering with EEA qualifications in 2018 are approximately at the same level as in 2014.
The entire Architects Register grows by over 1,000 architects each year.
