New procedures for the Prescribed Examination

The amendments were designed to fine-tune the examination process, using information collated over the first twelve months of operation. Various stakeholders in the process, including candidates,  submitted comments, which the Board took into account before making a final decision on the proposals.

In addition to some procedural changes, these amendments offer a more proportionate approach for candidates who have been unsuccessful and who wish to re-apply as well as clarifying eligibility to take the examination. The guidance to candidates and the feedback given to those who have been unsuccessful will also be improved.

Full details of the amended procedures may be found at: http://www.arb.org.uk/registration/guidance-on-registering-as-an-architect/examination-procedures.shtml
