Biography

Andrzej Hewanicki has over 35 years’ experience as a Chartered Architect, completing a wealth of successful projects in the UK and abroad ranging from small-scale office and residential to large-scale commercial buildings. In 2013 Andrzej established his current practice DUO Design + Architecture, which is principally concerned with residential projects; after working with Foggo Associates where he was practice design administrator and involved with developments at Cannon Street and Drapers Gardens.

The dominant part of Andrzej’s career has been in large-scale commercial, transport and infrastructure projects in the City of London. He has previously worked for successful and award winning practices such as; Arup Associates where he was involved in office, retail and station re-developments at Broadgate, Finsbury Avenue, Liverpool Street, Buckingham Palace Road and Triton Square. At Hurley Robertson and Associates, Andrzej led the re-development of the listed Daily Express Building and 120 Fleet Street, as well as a competition winning design for the Carpenters’ Guild.

Projects outside the UK have taken Andrzej as far as Turkey and Nigeria. He is also a tutor at the University of Westminster supporting students to prepare for their Part 3 Professional Practice qualifications and has acted as an external examiner at various UK universities. Andrzej completed his studies at Kingston University.
