Biography

Tony holds a number of governance positions including roles as Chair for The Conservation Volunteers, the Construction Industry Council’s Housing Panel, Rotherham council governance review and Shelter Trustee Board. He is also former Pro-Vice Chancellor and Emeritus Professor of Town & Regional Planning of The University of Sheffield.

In addition, Tony is a member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) Trustee Board, director of the Kensington & Chelsea TMO Ltd and a member of Lloyds Banking Group and Northern England housing commissions. He was elected a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences and appointed CBE in the 2014 New Year Honours. He won the RTPI Research Excellence Award in 2016l for his latest book.
