Julian Weinberg

Julian has been solicitor for 30 years, practising in the field of criminal law throughout that time. He gained Higher Rights of Audience (Criminal) in 2002. He has held a number of chair posts on professional regulatory panels including the Solicitors Regulation Authority, the Nursing and Midwifery Council and the General Teaching Council, and has been a Case Examiner for the General Optical Council. He is currently chair of the fitness to practise panels forthe Health and Care Professions Council, the Misconduct Panel for the Met Police and sat on the Investigation Committee of the General Medical Council until his appointment as a Legal Assessor and Legally Qualified Chair of the MPTS. He chairs the Code Compliance Panel for the Phone Paid Services Agency (formerly PhonepayPlus) and is a Financial Services Ombudsman. He is also a chair of an Education Appeal Panel and an Independent Funding Adjudicator and Costs Assessor for the Legal Aid Agency. He is a trustee for the Triangle Trust 1949 Fund.
