Liz Ellston

ARB Examiner

Biography

Liz is a Chartered architect, Architecture and Interior Design Tutor, and Writer. She has worked in the architecture and design profession for over 25 years, in a range of practices covering Interior Design and Architecture, Environmental Engineering and Masterplanning. Recently specialising in high-end residential refurbishment, primarily on historic and listed buildings, and environmental design and research projects.

Liz is currently working on dissemination and communication for hybridGEOTABS, a 4-year Horizon 2020 EU research project, studying and reporting on a number of case buildings using hybrid MPC GEOTABS systems.  She is a Part-Time Teaching Fellow at the University of Bath School of Architecture Degree, Interior Design Degree Tutor at the Open College of the Arts. Liz is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (Advance HE).

When in practice, Liz was RIBA Part 1 and Part 3 mentor, actively supporting further learning through external lectures, events and social interaction with design groups. She has also been a member on her local council residents’ forum for architecture and planning.  Liz has been a London Region RIBA Branch Member acting as Treasurer and Education Liaison, and has been on the judging panel for both Westminster University and the Bartlett RIBA Branch Prizes.
