Wendy Colvin

I am a Registered Architect and a Senior Lecturer in Architecture at the University of the West of England in Bristol.  My principle role at UWE is as the Programme Leader for the Part 3 course working with a team of four people to deliver a successful course.  In addition to the Part 3, I teach across Parts 1 and 2 in studio and in professional studies and lead the integrated Design and Architecture Foundation year.

Alongside my commitments at UWE, I am a Prescribed Examiner for the ARB and a Professional Examiner for Part 3.  I am a member of the Association of Professional Studies Advisors in Architecture, a group which works closely with the ARB and the RIBA on developments in architectural education.  I have taught at a number of other institutions, including Portsmouth University, the Bartlett UCL and Cardiff University.

Before I began teaching as my principle employment, I ran my own practice working on residential schemes.  My other practice experience includes working for a number of small to medium sized firms with a range of project portfolio from private domestic to housing developments to education to commercial.  I have worked in the USA, Germany and the UK.

I received my Bachelors in Architecture from the University of Cincinnati, Ohio, USA and received recognition of equivalence from the ARB/RIBA after I relocated to the UK and before I completed my Part 3 studies at Kingston University.
