ARB acts to raise public awareness of the Register (04/11/2002)
In its drive to raise public awareness of the Register, the Architects Registration Board (ARB) has placed an advert in the 20 most accessed copies of Yellow Pages.
The advert encourages anyone who requires architectural services to check with ARB that any person they have under consideration for this work is fully qualified and on the Register of Architects. It also emphasises the protection afforded to consumers by the mandatory requirement for architects to have PII cover.
This initiative was prompted by ARB’s recent market research, which showed that both architects and consumers wanted more information available on the benefits of using a registered architect. This advertisement in Yellow Pages meets that objective.
Commenting on ARB’s work in this area, Chairman Owen Luder said:
“Yellow Pages is an ideal medium for ARB to promote this message to a wide audience, particularly private clients seeking an architect. By informing the general public about the benefits of using a registered architect, we are able to respond positively to the wishes expressed by the profession for greater public awareness of the Register.”
