Come and learn how to find an architect (12/06/2007)
Are you planning a loft extension? Building a conservatory? Extending your house to make room for a relative? Will you be using an architect? If so, how can you be sure that the person you engage is properly trained, qualified and registered?
The architects’ regulatory body, ARB, is opening its doors to the public on Tuesday 19 June from 10.00 am to 4.30 pm at 8 Weymouth Street, London W1, so you can learn how to make sure that the architect you use is a genuine professional that you can trust.
ARB is the only body which maintains a Register of all properly trained and qualified architects in the United Kingdom. Becoming an architect takes many years of study and practical training – valuable skills and experience that an unqualified individual may well lack. ARB ensures that architects follow a Code of Conduct and it takes steps against any individuals who do not meet their high standards.
Come and meet Registrar Alison Carr and her team at ARB for a chat, or go to their website at www.arb.org.uk for more information.
