Change to ARB Board (18/10/2000)
It is with great regret that the Architects Registration Board has today announced that Amanda Levete, one of the Board's elected architect members, has offered her resignation because of growing commitments at Future Systems.
Amanda has served on the Board since its inception, and has contributed greatly to its work in many areas. Most notably, she was a driving force in ensuring that the Board's corporate identity and refurbished office space reflected its role as the regulator of a modern and design-led profession.
In her letter of resignation, Amanda commented:
"It is clear that I no longer have the proper time to contribute to ARB. Our office has trebled in size since last year, and I must now concentrate all my energies on the practice."
Following the procedures laid down for such an eventuality, John Wright, who polled the next highest number of votes in the last election held, has accepted the invitation to fill the vacated place.
John is the Managing Director of the Modern Design Group Limited, and RIBA Vice-President.
