Attending ARB Board Meetings (22/12/2000)
Members of the press and public are welcome to attend meetings of the Architects Registration Board. We would, however, ask you to note the guidance given below, and to adhere to the requests that are made.
* Space at Board meetings is limited, and the Chief Executive & Registrar reserves the right to refuse admittance once the available places have been filled.
* Agenda papers covering the open session of the Board meeting will be available to those requesting them.
* Certain elements of the Board's proceedings, for example, those relating to third parties, are confidential in nature. These items will therefore be taken in closed session.
* Members of the press and the public who attend Board meetings must refrain from interrupting Board proceedings in any way. The Chair reserves the right to request, at any time, that a member of the press or the public leave the meeting.
* Matters discussed by the Board may be reported. During such discussions, however, any views expressed by individual Board members remain their own personal opinions. The outcome of any discussion, as agreed by the majority of Board members present, will constitute the Board's decision, as summarised by the Chair when appropriate.
* Following Board meetings, Board members will not, under normal circumstances, further discuss matters raised at the meeting with members of the press.
* Any member of the press or the public requiring clarification on any of the issues discussed during the meeting, should address questions to the Chief Executive & Registrar.
Dates of Board meetings in 2002 are:
23 May
29 August
28 November
If you would like to attend any of the above meetings, please contact Karen Holmes on 020 7580 5861 in advance of the meeting. Because of the size of the Boardroom, spaces are limited.
