Regulation of title
Section 20 of the Architects Act says:
“A person shall not practise or carry on business under any name style or title containing the word “architect” unless he is a person registered under this Act.”
It is an offence in the UK for anyone to offer their services as an architect if they aren’t on the UK Register of Architects. We can – and do – take action if this happens and you should let us know if this happens to you.
This section of the site explains what we do to regulate use of the title “architect”, and lists those individuals who have been found guilty by the Magistrates’ Courts (subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act) of improperly using the title “architect”.
