ARB is the only body in the UK that is allowed to recognise (prescribe) the qualifications needed to become an architect.
This section of the site contains all the information relating to our statutory duty to prescribe the qualifications and practical experience that is needed to become an architect and join the UK Register of Architects. It also contains details of institutions and schools of architecture in the UK that award ARB-prescribed qualifications. Not all UK architecture qualifications are ARB-prescribed.
