The Board's Decision – AA Professional Practice and Practical Experience Examination – Part 3
The Board at its meeting of 22 September 2011 decided that the Architectural Association’s AA Professional Practice and Practical Experience Examination – Part 3 should continue to be prescribed until 30 September 2015 under section 4(1)(a) of the Architects Act 1997 for the purposes of entry onto the United Kingdom Register of Architects.
Prescription of the qualification is subject to the standard conditions set out in Section 2.11 of the Board's procedures, namely:
- The period of prescription shall commence on 30 September 2011 (and expire on 30 September 2015).
- Prescription of the qualification shall be by reference to the programme specification, submitted with the application of 3 December 2010, for the Architectural Association’s AA Professional Practice and Practical Experience Examination – Part 3.
- Annually by 1 November each year, commencing on 1 November 2011, the institution will be required to provide the Board with information of the nature set out in Appendix 2 in its procedures to enable the Board to see that all its criteria are being attained by students who have been awarded the qualification prescribed and the institution's resources remain as set out in its application and are adequate.
The Board was confident that;
- All students/candidates who had been awarded the qualifications since the prescription of the qualifications was last renewed had met all of the ARB Criteria;
- The Institution had adequate systems in place to ensure that students/candidates awarded the qualifications met all the Criteria.
- The Institution should be able to maintain its ability to ensure that all students/candidates awarded the qualifications met all the Criteria.
