Applying for registration for the first time

If you are unsure which route to registration is right for you, you can check the ARB route finder here.  Otherwise, the links below contain useful information if you are considering registering with ARB.

This page is a resource for anyone who wants to register with us for the first time whether you hold UK, EU, US or international qualifications.

If you hold international qualifications that are not directly recognised, you will need to apply through the Prescribed Examination route. You can read more about the prescribed examination process here.

You can make your application online, using our online portal.

If you require any help or a reasonable adjustment to assist in making an application, please get in touch with us using any of the contact details at the foot of this page.

Please note that you should take time to read the documents relevant to maintaining registration which can be found via the links to the right.  These include the Architects Code of Conduct, information on professional indemnity insurance and what you will need to do in order to maintain registration. You need only read the Competency Standards Guidance if you are applying to register more than two years after having passed your Part 3, or if you have been away from the Register for more than two years. More information about the Competency Standards Group (CSG) guidance can be found here.

If you are unsure about which of the following options is the right one for you, please email us at info@arb.org.uk.
